I have been using iPhone notifications for some time, primarily for reminders. It's very useful functionality. However I never used this functionality for content before.
I configured push notifications for iCricket yesterday and started getting alerts today during Ind vs Ire match. It was a great experience. The notifications were frequent in the match and were quite timely. It was quite good considering that it cost me nothing. I can surely say now that it was an good experience as the notifications were linked to the app N the content.
Now I am wondering where does it leave SMS alerts, where I need to pay every match or month. Also timeliness of such alerts are a big question mark.
I think I will start using more and more notifications for content going forward.
I suggest you do too ... Thats if you use iPhone.
