While we in India still are struggling with 3G auctions and subsequent rollout, Vodafone has announced that they have tested successfully Super 3G.
Typically 3G is expected to attain a peak download speed of 7.2 Mbps; Vodafone along with Ericsson and Qualcomm have demonstrated achieving peak download speed of 16Mbps (yes you have read it right; here in India this is unthinkable even on fixed broadband). They are expecting to achieve 21Mbps in the next trial scheduled. These are part of HSPA+ standards they are working on.
And to think of the fact they still don't call it 4G; what would be their goal for 4G standard. Any guesses?
